Thank you Macmillan for the free arc via edelweiss。 I loved this book。 So much chemistry between Kash and Bailey。 I did not see who was behind the attempted kidnapping coming as I was so distracted by the romance。 I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book。 Would like more time with Bailey and her dad hacking maybe together。

Not sure what went wrong with this one for me - was the usual Tijan drama， but somehow， it didn’t gel for me。 I was more frustrated by the large gaps in detail and weird ‘about turns’ in the story that didn’t make sense to me。And that ending。。。not feeling this one at all。 I certainly am not bugged by what could happen next。 And that’s a damn shame， since it is a TIJAN novel！

Second Chance Father & Daughter。 Dirty Business Deals & One Hot Security Guy with Secrets。 The premise of this book was interesting。A 22 year old girl， Bailey computer hacker。No！ Computer genius that finds out， after a botched kidnap attempt， that she is the daughter of Peter Francis。A Steven Jobs/ Elon Musk kinda tech savvy billionaire type guy。She survived that incident with the help of the mysterious Kash。Dark， brooding， hot （obvious）Kash， is her newly found father’s， head security “go to” gu Second Chance Father & Daughter。 Dirty Business Deals & One Hot Security Guy with Secrets。 The premise of this book was interesting。A 22 year old girl， Bailey computer hacker。No！ Computer genius that finds out， after a botched kidnap attempt， that she is the daughter of Peter Francis。A Steven Jobs/ Elon Musk kinda tech savvy billionaire type guy。She survived that incident with the help of the mysterious Kash。Dark， brooding， hot （obvious）Kash， is her newly found father’s， head security “go to” guy。Only a few years older than her， and she is instantly attracted。He is the Francis’s “Mr Fix It”。 any problems in the family，。。。he deals。If having a new Daddy wasn’t enough， Bailey discovers she has two younger half siblings and her father has a new wife Quinn， AND！Let’s not forget a party loving， sex， drugs， man whoring， half brother， Matt， around her age， he is the darling of the gossip columnists and paparazzi。Of course no book like this would be complete without the usual cast of characters，We have Victoria， mean girl， ex lover of Kash。There is also a nefarious group of men Acane， who keep trying to kidnap family members。。。Thus， thrusting Bailey and Kash together。 Him protect her， and Bailey relying on him。Evil new step mommy。Debauched friends of Matt’s Friendly females who become friends。But， the main story revolves around Bailey and Kash and before you can say， plot trope， the two are panting after each other desperate to bump ugly’s And they eventually do 。。。SURPRISE！We find out about Kash’s Grandfather， and family， his secrets。We follow Bailey through her troubled journey reconnecting with her family， half brothers and sisters （particularly the deeply destructive Matt， who NEVER felt wanted or appreciated by father OR stepmother）We are there to witness the awkwardness of Bailey and Peter’s （her father） reconciliation。And the dilemma facing Kash over his family’s past， and present （his grandfather）Overall interesting characters and plot， but there is a certain flow to this book that feels very familiar。 The gist of the main relationship Boy and girl meet。Banter back and forth。Get to know one another。 Eventually have sex。。。Lot and LOTS of sexDevelop feelings。 Are all loved up。Then in comes the bad guys to stir S up。Drama ensues。Leaving are loved up couple to declare their undying love to each other。THEN。Top it all off with the over shadowing threat presenting himself at the very end。Yep。 Red this kinda scenario before。 Just different names。Not a bad read but， why do I feel that everything is going to work out for these two crazy kids in the end。Yeah I can smell a HEA a mile off。Elements I didn’t like are always the Hallmark moments - sentimental stuffThe Hallmark moments。Kash and Bailey’s relationship was kind of a slow burn。。。but it wasn’t。The younger half siblings p， and the cry vest that followed。Yeah。 Everyone loves Bailey。 The reconnecting with her siblings a bit OTT for meI’m not big on the soppy， fell good， emotional stuff。（Sometimes it feels clunky and too sugary sweet）。So much so， that I found that I would skim those parts The everyone loves Bailey parts， and Bailey loves everyone else。I was finding I was getting particularly annoying with her younger brother Cyclone ，and his no filter， loud ADHD behaviour， which ultimately would lead into wacky， crazy family bonding time。Yep。 The cutsie pool fights， hide and seek games， pillow fights Were all getting on my nerves。I felt these bits were being a tad over played。I get it。 She need to feel part of a unit， a family。Now。 Move on。The character I was most intrigued with was Matt。Yeah， he has issues galore， and he’s probably head for a downward spiral， but I’m here for it。I like his no F ‘s to give attitude even if it’s coming from a place of pain。So。 70% of this book was okay。Once I finished I found it to be an overall satisfying read。Even if a lot of the situations were obvious。 （Even the outcomes） rolls eyes。。。 cough kidnap attempt outcomes。 。。。more

right off the bat i was incredibly intrigued by the story。 I was hooked。 the book started of with a huge bang， and it would hard NOT to be intrigued by this story。 The drama in the insiders was so interesting。 the instant chemistry and tension between Bailey and Kashton was so apparent and hot。 I found myself laughing out loud multiple times while reading this book。 what was also incredibly interesting was the dynamic between kash and peter！ after around 50% i started to feel like there was too right off the bat i was incredibly intrigued by the story。 I was hooked。 the book started of with a huge bang， and it would hard NOT to be intrigued by this story。 The drama in the insiders was so interesting。 the instant chemistry and tension between Bailey and Kashton was so apparent and hot。 I found myself laughing out loud multiple times while reading this book。 what was also incredibly interesting was the dynamic between kash and peter！ after around 50% i started to feel like there was too much going on。 there was a lot of moving parts but it made the story engaging and interesting。 this did leave off on a cliffhanger so i am excited for the second book！ 。。。more
